So many people to thank for a brilliant concert:

The choir welcomed an audience of over 200 people to their performance of Handel's Messiah on Saturday 25th November at Saint Thomas' Church.

Soprano Emily Morris and Contralto Annette Wood were joined by four talented young performers from Birmingham Conservatoire, Tenor Jack Dolan and Bass Joseph Clayton and trumpet players Richard Ward and Dolma Chiodak.

The wonderful orchestra were led by Karen Bithel, with basso continuo played by Maxine McGinnes and harpsichord by Katy Strudwick.

Violinists Laura Waters, Brigitte Mallon, Edward Boothroyd and Freya Stokoe, viola players Rosemary Dobbin and Natalie Davies, cellist John Parsons and double bass Dave Findley were joined by Sam Baxter and Nicola Popplewell on oboe, Simon Roberts on bassoon and Hayley Grant on timpani.

The choir couldn't have hoped for a better group of musicians to joint them for this special event.

The performers were supported by a lot of organisation from the committee and the work of choir members in transporting and setting up the staging, chairs, refreshments and manning the front of house.

It was a pleasure to have such an appreciative audience, including past musical directors and accompanists and her worship, Mayor of Chesterfield, Councillor Maureen Davenport.

Thank you to all.
